Kaymakli, The ancient name was Enegup. The houses in the village are constructed around the nearly one hundred tunnels of the underground city. The tunnels are still used today as storage areas, stables, and cellars. The underground city at Kaymaklı differs from Derinkuyu in terms of its structure and layout. The tunnels are lower, narrower, and more steeply inclined. Itinerary This tour is specially designed to discover the hidden treasures of many out of the way, spectacular, interesting and realistic sights of Cappadocia. Our first stop is at the fascinating multilevel underground city of Kaymakli. Continue to Soganli Valley, also known as the ‘Valley of Dolls’ with its many Byzantine period rock tombs, enjoying a leisurely hike and exploring the Armenian style churches and monastery ruins. Then we pass through the Akkoy dam the remote villages of Yesilhisar and Basdere & sheikh Turasan shrine. Following a brief stop, continue enjoying a gentle stroll towards Akköy Village for a late village lunch. Once a strategic location for the caravan men and traders of the historic Silk road.
